The Travis is an empty nester’s dream. Custom built on a five acre re-use farmland plot, the front yard is open green pasture while the home itself is built into the wood-line with a rolling brook in the rear. Our clients are retiring and requested minimal initial landscaping as they plan to spend their retirement years planting and gardening.
Some components of the Interior Architecture start with the custom made mantel piece. We hired a mobile saw mill Craftsman to visit during the lot grading and the milled several of the trees into shelving boards. The milling also produced many random length boards that our retiring Clients will soon turn into wonderful furniture pieces. The grand family room ceiling showcases custom built stain grade trusses.
The Design Appeal style of this home is mostly modern country. The home is full of windows and natural light is everywhere bouncing off of the bright, modern colors and styles. Most rooms have trey ceilings or box ceilings for the open and grand feel.
The free flow Function of the Floor Plan felt at as you enter. The master down ranch and finished game room above the oversized three bay garage are almost subconscious to our Americana styles. As you enter this home you entertain in the library appointed with a piano. Or you may sit by the fire in the family adorned with natural stone and stately hardwoods. Another option might be to fellowship around the chief’s kitchen and enjoy a meal. All options include an abundance of natural light.
Our Creative use of Interior Space includes open shelves in lieu of closed door closets, custom made cubbies and staging areas when entering or exiting through the garage. Groceries from the car to the craftsmen hand built pantry organizational shelving are less than twenty steps.
Creative Integration of Plan Design allow for adaptability for future improvements such as a planned pool and patio areas in the rear. The home not only features a screen porch fit for Royals but also integrates a rear porch with regal stain grade ceilings allowing for grilling, entertaining, dining and future expansion.

This home is custom built into what may be the most perfect building lot. Our Site Considerations where forgiving for us on this home. The idea is always to build a home into the Earth as if made by the Earth itself. We saved a good portion of the timber for our client’s retirement furniture making plans.
